Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland as part of the Network Management Contract for the South West Trunk Road Unit, are undertaking essential maintenance on the A75 (westbound) on approach to Drummore Roundabout from Friday 18th February until Sunday 6th March 2022.
This scheme, with a value of £875,000, will benefit around 4,300 vehicles using this route each day, by improving journey time reliability, ride quality and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
The work will be carried out using a contraflow system to maintain traffic flow through the works location continuously between 6am Saturday 19th February – 7pm Friday 4th March. Additionally, overnight road closures with a diversion route will be in place in both directions overnight from 7pm to 6am on the nights of Friday 18th February, Friday 4th March and Saturday 5th March (inclusive) 2022 to erect and remove the contraflow system as well preparatory works with the barrier (this will be removed as soon as feasibly possible and we will endeavour to re-open the carriageway prior to 6am where possible).
Diversion routes are as follows:
Westbound Diversion Route
Traffic will exit the A75 at Garroch Roundabout onto Garroch Loaning and will continue through a further roundabout before reaching Cargenbridge roundabout. Traffic will turn right onto A711 to Dalbeattie and proceed to Dalbeattie through Beeswing. Traffic will continue through Dalbeattie onto A711 Craignair Road before keeping right onto A745. Traffic will continue until reaching the roundabout at Oakwell Road and will take the first exit onto A713 Queen Street and continue straight before turning left onto B736 King Street. Traffic will continue on B736 westbound until reaching Hightae Roundabout where they will re-join the A75.
Eastbound Diversion Route
Eastbound traffic will follow the same route in reverse order, however they will use A713 King Street instead of A713 Queen Street.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Our operatives will follow strict physical distancing and hygiene protocols throughout the programme, in line with the Scottish Government’s COVID-19 guidance.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
