Dumfries and Galloway Council step up resurfacing repairs on Glasgow Road, Dumfries: Galloway Street to Sunderries Avenue this week due to forecast weather conditions.
A Council spokesperson stated “As a result of the severe weather over the weekend, the forecast for this week, and the need to complete the works before the schools go back, we will try to carry out the road resurfacing over the next 3 days.
So, depending on weather conditions, the road will now be closed from 0930 to 1630 [9.30am to 4.30pm] on Tuesday 13, Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 August 2019. The road will be open to traffic outwith these hours.
To minimise delays for yourself and others, if at all possible, please avoid the area and use alternative routes.
Should the works progress well and we can complete them ahead of schedule, we’ll reopen the road as soon as we can. Look out for updates.”
